If portability is a high priority, the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 is lighter and has longer battery life, making it easier to carry around and use on the go. The Lenovo Legion 5 17", with its larger screen and higher performance graphics card, is better suited for gaming and demanding applications like 3D modeling or machine learning, but it's heavier and has a shorter battery life. The ASUS, being less expensive, can handle general use and is equipped with a touchscreen, but for intensive tasks and better overall 3D and engineering performance, the Lenovo with its additional RAM is more capable, albeit at a slightly higher price. The Lenovo Legion 5 17" is good for engineering and design, while the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 is only fair.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14's high-quality screen paired with a capable CPU and integrated GPU is suited for engineering and design where multiple displays benefit productivity, but for more demanding tasks, the Lenovo Legion 5 17" with its more powerful CPU, ample RAM, and dedicated NVIDIA RTX GPU excels in handling intensive engineering simulations and 3D rendering while also offering a larger screen, though it's less portable due to its size and weight. Additionally, the Legion's robust keyboard and cooling system handle the rigors of extended work sessions, at the slight expense of increased noise and reduced battery life when compared to the Zenbook.

The Lenovo Legion 5 17" has a better screen than the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
For general use, both the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 and Lenovo Legion 5 17" offer clear visuals and brightness ideal for everyday tasks, bolstered by their high resolution and quality panels. When it comes to engineering and design, these laptops display a wide spectrum of accurate colors, an essential feature for professionals who rely on precision in color-critical applications. However, for gaming and 3D tasks, the less-than-ideal refresh rates on both models may not provide as smooth an experience as dedicated gaming laptops, which often boast higher refresh rates for more fluid motion and responsiveness.

How the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 and the Lenovo Legion 5 17" compare to other laptops
"The Asus ZenBook Duo's second screen is like the Apple Touch Bar, but better. Most would agree that having two screens instead of one can really boost productivity and the ZenBook Duo is no different in this regard. It's tough going back to just one screen after becoming accustomed to spacious dual-screen setups. For a laptop form factor, however, users will have to accept some compromises. Firstly, weight is the most obvious drawback as the system is several hundred grams heavier than a regular ZenBook 14. Additionally, colors on the second screen will not be as vivid as the main display."
"The Lenovo Legion 5 17 is a current-gen 17-inch gaming laptop and equipped with the latest AMD CPU and a powerful GPU, that manages to reach its full potential. The AMD Ryzen 5 5600H is a very good choice for this laptop and able to maintain its performance level for long periods of time. Our test model only falls behind consistently in a direct comparison with its competitors that are often equipped with eight cores and 16 threads. Despite this, the Legion 5 17 leaves an excellent impression and is almost able to keep up with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 mobile GPU in synthetic benchmarks."
