The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 is typically much more expensive than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i. The Zenbook Duo 14 has a unique dual screen setup and is highly portable with a good battery life, making it suitable for multitasking on the go. While it has a higher color accuracy, which is great for tasks that require precise colors, its general, 3D and machine learning, and engineering performance are moderate. On the other hand, the IdeaPad Slim 5i is more budget-friendly, has more RAM for better multitasking, and comes with a newer generation CPU that offers good general use and engineering performance. However, its screen is not touchscreen, its color accuracy is lower, and despite a larger screen, it is less portable than the Zenbook Duo 14. Neither laptop is ideal for intensive gaming, but if budget is a concern and you need a device for general and engineering use with a larger screen and are willing to compromise on portability and unique features, the IdeaPad Slim 5i could be the better choice. The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i for general use, and engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i has a better screen for content creation.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 boasts higher resolution and brightness, making it appealing for general use and detailed engineering work, also offering wide color gamuts that benefit designers who need color accuracy. However, its average refresh rate limits its ability to smoothly render fast-paced action, making it less ideal for gaming and 3D applications. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i, with fair screen quality, provides an adequate display for everyday tasks and engineering, but the lack of exceptional color coverage and modest refresh rate means it's not optimized for vibrant design work or high-speed gaming graphics.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i and ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 are both good for general use.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i offers a more comfortable viewing experience with a higher screen resolution and aspect ratio, along with more RAM for smoother multitasking, which makes it well-suited for general use. However, the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14, while providing fair general use performance with a powerful CPU and ample storage, falls short due to less RAM and a standard display aspect ratio, but it compensates with a better battery life and a unique dual-screen feature which might be more appealing to multitaskers or content creators.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i and ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i are considered fair for gaming and 3D primarily because both employ integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics, which are decent but not optimized for high-end gaming or professional 3D work, as compared to dedicated gaming GPUs; furthermore, both laptops have a screen refresh rate of 60Hz which is standard for many tasks but may not be sufficient for high frame-rate gaming where faster refresh rates are preferred. The ASUS has a slightly more powerful CPU which is important for gaming and 3D tasks, and both have high-quality IPS screens, but the ASUS also offers a higher screen resolution and contrast, which may lead to a better visual experience despite the shared limitations.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i to be good for engineering and design, while the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 is only fair.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14, with its higher-end CPU and Iris Xe graphics, and a quality IPS screen, is tailored for demanding engineering tasks, design work, and multitasking, but with 8GB RAM could limit complex processing tasks when compared to Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i which offers 16GB RAM but a slightly lesser CPU, providing a balance for engineering use that demands ample memory. While the Zenbook's unique dual-screen design upscales productivity for design applications, the IdeaPad's higher aspect ratio IPS display gives more vertical screen real estate, and both have high color accuracy, which is critical for design precision.

How the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i compare to other laptops
"The Asus ZenBook Duo's second screen is like the Apple Touch Bar, but better. Most would agree that having two screens instead of one can really boost productivity and the ZenBook Duo is no different in this regard. It's tough going back to just one screen after becoming accustomed to spacious dual-screen setups. For a laptop form factor, however, users will have to accept some compromises. Firstly, weight is the most obvious drawback as the system is several hundred grams heavier than a regular ZenBook 14. Additionally, colors on the second screen will not be as vivid as the main display."
"The device is made for average work loads and if your work has a lot to do with online browsing, using apps that are not power-hungry and streaming videos. The looks are really good and the device in itself is not a heavy one. And with Intel 11th-gen Core processor, you might sail through most of your work without complaints."
