Choosing between the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 largely depends on your needs and budget. The Zenbook Duo is pricier but offers better general, engineering, and creative performance with its superior processor and unique dual-screen feature, making it suitable for multitasking professionals. Conversely, the IdeaPad Slim 3 is more affordable, lighter on your wallet, and offers longer battery life, making it ideal for basic tasks and general use. While neither laptop is designed for high-end gaming, both have decent build quality and portability, but the Zenbook Duo holds an edge in performance, and the IdeaPad Slim 3 in battery longevity and value for money. The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 for general use, and engineering and design.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 offers a high-resolution display and bright screens, which means text and images are sharp and easy to see, making it suitable for general use and detail-oriented engineering tasks where color accuracy and clarity are crucial. However, its typical refresh rate may not be ideal for gaming or 3D, where smoother motion and faster screen updates are needed for an optimal experience. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 provides sufficient resolution and brightness for everyday tasks and entry-level design work, but like the ASUS, it falls short for gaming and 3D due to an average refresh rate that can't deliver the silky-smooth visuals preferred by gamers and professionals in animation.

The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 are both good for general use.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 offers solid screen quality, excellent heat management, and a high-quality keyboard but sacrifices some portability and has a shorter battery life compared to the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3, which is lighter with longer battery life but offers lower screen color quality and heat management performance. While both laptops have similar CPU, RAM, and storage capabilities, the tradeoffs between the Zenbook Duo's superior screen and thermal attributes and the IdeaPad's longer battery life and better portability should be considered based on your personal usage priorities.

How the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ZenBook Duo's second screen is like the Apple Touch Bar, but better. Most would agree that having two screens instead of one can really boost productivity and the ZenBook Duo is no different in this regard. It's tough going back to just one screen after becoming accustomed to spacious dual-screen setups. For a laptop form factor, however, users will have to accept some compromises. Firstly, weight is the most obvious drawback as the system is several hundred grams heavier than a regular ZenBook 14. Additionally, colors on the second screen will not be as vivid as the main display."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
