The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 is typically much more expensive and offers better performance for 3D, machine learning, and engineering tasks with its Intel i7 processor and Iris Xe graphics. However, it is less portable due to its dual-screen design and heavier weight. The HP 14" Laptop, with an AMD Ryzen 5 processor and Vega 7 graphics, is more affordable and more portable, making it suitable for general use with decent performance in most areas but less capable for intensive tasks. Both have similar battery life, but the ASUS offers a touchscreen and better performance scores across different categories, while the HP offers a better balance between cost, performance, and portability. The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 and HP 14" Laptop are both only fair for engineering and design, though the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 is somewhat better.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14, with a higher-powered Intel i7 processor and superior Iris Xe graphics, along with a more vivid screen and expanded connectivity options including Thunderbolt ports, is better suited for demanding engineering and design tasks. In contrast, the HP 14" Laptop houses a competent AMD Ryzen 5 5500U CPU and Vega 7 graphics which, while fair, fall short in performance and have a less impressive screen and fewer high-speed connection options, making it less ideal for intensive applications.

The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 has a better screen than the HP 14" Laptop for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14's higher resolution and brightness make it more appealing for general use and engineering tasks where details and color accuracy are paramount. However, its focus on screen quality over a high refresh rate makes it less ideal for gaming and 3D applications, which benefit from smoother visuals that come with faster refresh rates. Meanwhile, the HP 14" Laptop's fair screen quality across the board suggests it doesn't excel in any specific area but provides an adequate display for users with a variety of needs, albeit without the enhanced color gamuts and crispness provided by the ASUS for specialized tasks.

The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 and the HP 14" Laptop both have their strengths and weaknesses for general use; the ASUS offers a high-quality screen and a powerful CPU which is beneficial for demanding applications, but it's heavier and more expensive, which could be drawbacks for users looking for portability and value. Conversely, the HP has a decent screen and CPU for everyday tasks, it's lighter and often less costly, but its lower storage capacity and potentially less impressive build quality could be limiting for users with significant storage needs or who prioritize durability.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 to be only fair for gaming and AI, while the HP 14" Laptop is poor.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14, with its Intel Iris Xe graphics, and the HP 14" Laptop, wielding an AMD Vega 7 GPU, both offer fair gaming and 3D capabilities due to their integrated graphics units, which are not as capable as dedicated gaming GPUs, and standard 60Hz refresh rate screens, which are adequate for casual gaming but may not be ideal for fast-paced games where higher refresh rates provide smoother visuals. Both laptops have decent screen quality and CPUs that can support general gaming and 3D tasks, but for intensive gaming or professional 3D work, you may want to explore options with more powerful features in these areas.

How the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 and the HP 14" Laptop compare to other laptops
"The Asus ZenBook Duo's second screen is like the Apple Touch Bar, but better. Most would agree that having two screens instead of one can really boost productivity and the ZenBook Duo is no different in this regard. It's tough going back to just one screen after becoming accustomed to spacious dual-screen setups. For a laptop form factor, however, users will have to accept some compromises. Firstly, weight is the most obvious drawback as the system is several hundred grams heavier than a regular ZenBook 14. Additionally, colors on the second screen will not be as vivid as the main display."
"This feels like an ideal laptop for someone who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on a laptop and isn’t too bothered by things like build quality or construction. It’s a laptop that will be used to pay bills, keep track of expenses, do some online shopping, and will be tucked away in a spare bedroom/home office. It’s an appliance designed to do a job without fuss. It’s not a premium experience—the materials do feel a little cheap, the display won’t exactly wow you, and the battery life is nothing to write home about, especially if you’ve used more expensive devices. But overall it’s not too shabby, especially for the price."
