The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 has a unique dual-screen feature that can be useful for multitasking and creative tasks, but it's heavier and less portable compared to the Dell Latitude 5431. The Dell offers a more traditional single screen setup, prioritizing a lighter build for better portability and a longer battery life, but with a smaller storage capacity. The Zenbook has more storage but less RAM than the Latitude, which can impact multitasking performance. Both have similar processors and integrated graphics, making them competent for general use and light engineering work, but not ideal for intensive gaming or high-end graphics tasks. If your workload benefits from an additional screen and you don't mind a little extra weight, the Zenbook Duo 14 could be appropriate, whereas if you need something more straightforward and portable, the Latitude 5431 might be preferable. The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 has a better screen than the Dell Latitude 5431 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design, while the Dell Latitude 5431 has a better screen for content creation.
For general use, the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 provides a bright, high-resolution display which makes it clear and visually appealing, while the Dell Latitude 5431 has a more modest display that may not be as sharp or vibrant. For engineering and design purposes, the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 covers a wider color gamut ensuring that the colors are accurate and vivid, which is essential for precise work, whereas the Dell's color range is narrower, yielding less fidelity in color-sensitive tasks. For gaming and 3D applications, though, the ASUS's lower refresh rate could lead to less smooth visuals as compared to laptops designed for gaming, while the Dell similarly may not offer the fluidity desired by gamers or professionals working with fast-paced 3D graphics.
The Dell Latitude 5431 and ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 are both good for general use.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 has a superior screen brightness and color coverage which is better for visual tasks but comes with less RAM than the Dell Latitude 5431, which may impact multitasking performance; the Dell also offers a better balance of features including more storage options and better portability due to a longer battery life and lighter weight, making it more suitable for general use. While both have similar CPUs and screens, the combination of RAM, battery, and portability gives the Dell Latitude an edge for general users.

How the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 and the Dell Latitude 5431 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ZenBook Duo's second screen is like the Apple Touch Bar, but better. Most would agree that having two screens instead of one can really boost productivity and the ZenBook Duo is no different in this regard. It's tough going back to just one screen after becoming accustomed to spacious dual-screen setups. For a laptop form factor, however, users will have to accept some compromises. Firstly, weight is the most obvious drawback as the system is several hundred grams heavier than a regular ZenBook 14. Additionally, colors on the second screen will not be as vivid as the main display."
