The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 offers better display brightness, additional screen real estate with its unique secondary screen, and robust build quality, making it suitable for multitasking and creative work; however, it is heavier and less portable than the Dell Inspiron 14 5425. On the other hand, the Dell Inspiron has more RAM, which is great for handling multiple applications simultaneously, boasts a longer battery life for extended usage away from a power outlet, and is lighter, which improves portability. Choose the ASUS for creative tasks demanding more screen space and a brighter display, or opt for the Dell if portability, battery life, and multitasking capability are your top priorities. The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 has a better screen than the Dell Inspiron 14 5425 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design, while the Dell Inspiron 14 5425 has a better screen for content creation, and software development.
When considering screen quality for general use, the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 stands out because of its higher resolution and brightness level, which enhances the clarity and visibility of content. For engineering and design, the Zenbook's wider color gamuts ensure more accurate color reproduction, which is crucial for tasks that demand color precision. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rate of both the ASUS and the Dell Inspiron 14 5425 can lead to less smooth visuals, making neither ideal for fast-paced gaming or rendering 3D graphics where a high refresh rate is key for an optimal experience.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Dell Inspiron 14 5425 to be good for engineering and design, while the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 is only fair.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14, with an Intel i7 processor and Iris Xe graphics, is designed with dual screens that will benefit multitasking for engineering and design, despite having 8 GB of RAM compared to the Dell Inspiron 14 5425 which offers a more memory-adept 16 GB RAM alongside AMD Ryzen 7 and Vega 8 graphics, better for demanding tasks but with a single higher-resolution screen. While the Zenbook Duo 14’s additional display enhances productivity for design work, the Inspiron 14 prioritizes higher RAM for complex engineering software and an elevated screen quality for sharp visuals, but each compromises either on multitasking versatility or sheer performance capacity.

How the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 and the Dell Inspiron 14 5425 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ZenBook Duo's second screen is like the Apple Touch Bar, but better. Most would agree that having two screens instead of one can really boost productivity and the ZenBook Duo is no different in this regard. It's tough going back to just one screen after becoming accustomed to spacious dual-screen setups. For a laptop form factor, however, users will have to accept some compromises. Firstly, weight is the most obvious drawback as the system is several hundred grams heavier than a regular ZenBook 14. Additionally, colors on the second screen will not be as vivid as the main display."
"A slim chassis, an acceptable weight (1.6 kg) and a real-world battery life of almost 13 hours turn the Inspiron into a mobile companion. Good: The battery can not only be charged using Dell's proprietary power adapter, but also with a universal USB-C power adapter (min. 45 watts). Office and Internet applications are handled by the built-in combination of Ryzen 5 5625U APU and 16 GB of RAM just as easily as modest computer games. Heat and noise development are generally okay, but the laptop should work a bit quieter under full load."
