If affordability is a key factor and you value a secondary touchscreen for multitasking, the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 is a solid pick with good battery life and portability. It suits general use and light engineering work. For heavier use, like intensive gaming, 3D rendering, or machine learning, the Dell Alienware m15 R7 is more appropriate with its powerful processor, high-end graphics, and significantly better performance, but it comes at a higher price point, with reduced battery life and less ease of carrying around due to its higher weight. How the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 and the Dell Alienware m15 R7 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ZenBook Duo's second screen is like the Apple Touch Bar, but better. Most would agree that having two screens instead of one can really boost productivity and the ZenBook Duo is no different in this regard. It's tough going back to just one screen after becoming accustomed to spacious dual-screen setups. For a laptop form factor, however, users will have to accept some compromises. Firstly, weight is the most obvious drawback as the system is several hundred grams heavier than a regular ZenBook 14. Additionally, colors on the second screen will not be as vivid as the main display."
"The Alienware M15 offers solid gaming and leading endurance. It makes the most of its CPU and GPU while delivering stellar battery life for a gaming laptop. Opening the lid presents a full-size keyboard with honeycomb cutouts above it on the deck. An oblong RBG lightning element surrounds the entire rear panel and can be color-synced with the other lights on the laptop. There’s not a lot to dislike about the M15 Its productivity performance lagged in some areas, particularly in the storage benchmark, and it’s a bit heavy. Alienware has a clear winner here with the M15 based on its strong overall performance and endurance."
