If portability and battery life are important to you, the ASUS Zenbook 14X is the better choice because it's lighter and has a higher portability score. For intensive tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or gaming, the HP Omen 17 with its more powerful GPU and CPU is more suitable. The Omen also offers a larger screen and higher refresh rates, which could be beneficial for gaming and engineering uses but comes with a less portable design and heavier weight. The ASUS Zenbook has an OLED panel with better colors for general use, while the HP Omen, though lacking in color accuracy, provides smoother fast-motion performance. The Zenbook is less expensive, but if high performance for demanding tasks is a priority and you're willing to spend more, the Omen is the better option. Give Feedback

The ASUS Zenbook 14X has a better screen than the HP Omen 17 for general use, and engineering and design, while the HP Omen 17 has a better screen for gaming and AI, content creation, and software development.
The ASUS Zenbook 14X offers a high-resolution display and bright screen, ensuring sharp images and readability in different lighting conditions, which is ideal for general use. For engineering and design, its wide color gamut coverage enables accurate color representation that professionals need. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the Zenbook's lower refresh rate makes it less suitable as it won't be as smooth with fast-paced visuals compared to displays with higher refresh rates.

How the ASUS Zenbook 14X and the HP Omen 17 compare to other laptops
"With the Zenbook 14X, Asus has a 14-incher in its range that is - mostly - a joy to use. First, there is the colorful OLED panel with 3K resolution that displays the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. The Zenbook is also at the forefront in terms of workmanship, input devices and connections with 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports and a generous keyboard layout. A pleasure to use, the Zenbook 14X is a solid, very well-built subnotebook that sits well on the table. A runtime of five hours, however, is below average for a high-end subnotebook nowadays. The OLED screensaver causes increased power consumption when in idle mode."
"The HP Omen 17 (2022) gaming laptop has a stylish case and hardware with lots of potential. The HP Omen 17 is a fairly unobtrusive gaming laptop. A material combination of plastic and metal gives the case a high stability and a quality surface feel. The unspectacular design is pleasing and is hardly indicative of the laptop's high performance potential. The Intel Core i7-12700H in particular is able to perform well once again. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is also strong in the gaming notebook. Demanding games run smoothly in Full HD resolution. The HP Omen 17 is a good gaming laptop that delivers partly excellent performance. But even at this performance level, cheaper alternatives are available."
