If you prioritize a lower price and better portability, the ASUS Zenbook 14 may be the right choice for you, with the trade-off being potentially lower performance in resource-intensive tasks. On the other hand, if you require high performance for activities like gaming, 3D rendering, or engineering software, and are willing to invest more, the Gigabyte A5 will provide that at the expense of portability and possibly shorter battery life. In essence, consider the ASUS Zenbook 14 for everyday use and mobility, and the Gigabyte A5 for demanding applications, if the higher cost is within your budget. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Florian Glaser | August 2022
"Users who travel frequently and are looking for a portable laptop are in the right place with the Asus ZenBook 14. The sleek case is extremely light (1.2 kg) and surprisingly thin (1.5 cm). Outdoor use is also enjoyable thanks to the bright Full HD display, which is something that can rarely be said about laptops with TN or IPS panels. The excellent battery life complements this as well. Longer trips are no problem with the ZenBook 14. Another plus point is the high-performance Ryzen 7 5700U, which often leaves the Intel competition in the dust thanks to its large number of cores."

NotebookCheck

Florian Glaser | September 2022
"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
