When deciding between the ASUS Zenbook 14 and the Dell XPS 13 Plus, consider the following: The ASUS is much less expensive and offers a budget-friendly option with a larger screen, stronger battery life, and lower weight, making it highly portable. The Dell, on the other hand, while more expensive, provides higher storage and memory, a more powerful processor, and a higher resolution screen which may benefit demanding applications and multitasking. The Dell’s design is more premium and it may have a better build quality, but its battery life is shorter and it's slightly heavier, which could impact portability. The ASUS could be more suitable for everyday use and work that doesn't require intensive tasks, while the Dell is engineered for demanding work like 3D rendering, machine learning, or gaming, although it comes at a higher price and with slightly less portability. The Dell XPS 13 Plus has a better screen than the ASUS Zenbook 14 for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
If you prioritize vibrant and accurate colors for tasks like photo editing or CAD work, the Dell XPS 13 Plus with its superior color gamut coverage will be more suitable than the ASUS Zenbook 14. However, for everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming where screen sharpness and brightness contribute significantly to the experience, both laptops have high-quality displays that should serve you well. For gaming or working with 3D applications where fast-moving visuals are common, neither laptop excels due to their lower refresh rates, although they'll manage well with moderate resolution detail for less demanding games or 3D tasks.

How the ASUS Zenbook 14 and the Dell XPS 13 Plus compare to other laptops
"Users who travel frequently and are looking for a portable laptop are in the right place with the Asus ZenBook 14. The sleek case is extremely light (1.2 kg) and surprisingly thin (1.5 cm). Outdoor use is also enjoyable thanks to the bright Full HD display, which is something that can rarely be said about laptops with TN or IPS panels. The excellent battery life complements this as well. Longer trips are no problem with the ZenBook 14. Another plus point is the high-performance Ryzen 7 5700U, which often leaves the Intel competition in the dust thanks to its large number of cores."
"The XPS 13 Plus is powerful, but has its drawbacks. Dell did not only update the processor generation, but also decided to offer two completely different models from now on. The XPS 13 Plus gets the faster Intel Alder Lake-P chips, and the Core i7-1260P in our review unit offers good performance figures. However, the device once again shows the problems of the current Intel CPUs, because the high performance requires a lot of power. This affects the battery runtime as well as temperatures, so the new model (even with the Optimized power profile) is louder than the older model."
