The ASUS Vivobook S 16 OLED offers a vibrant OLED display with a higher resolution, making it excellent for visual tasks and general use, with the added benefit of better battery life and portability due to its lighter weight and slimmer design. However, it falls short in performance compared to the MSI Stealth GS66, particularly for gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning tasks, as it's equipped with a less powerful GPU and CPU.
On the other hand, the MSI Stealth GS66 is a performance powerhouse with a high-refresh-rate screen, superior graphics capabilities, and a more robust processor, catering to intensive tasks like gaming and engineering workloads. It's also built with a sturdier design and offers more connectivity options, including Thunderbolt ports. The tradeoff is its higher price point, shorter battery life, and heavier build, which may impact its portability for users who are always on the move.
Ultimately, if you prioritize superior visuals, battery life, and portability for everyday tasks, the ASUS Vivobook S 16 OLED is the way to go. But if raw performance, particularly for gaming and demanding applications, is your main concern and you're willing to compromise on portability and price, then the MSI Stealth GS66 is the better choice. How the ASUS Vivobook S 16 OLED and the MSI Stealth GS66 compare to other laptops
"The MSI Stealth GS66 is powerful enough for QHD. The Core i7-12700H and the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti found in the 12UGS model that we tested run all modern games smoothly in the native QHD resolution. The 15-inch display is very fast with its 240 Hz refresh rate, and it also offers a great color space (almost 100% DCI-P3) on top of that, which should please gamers as well as content creators, although we would have still wished for a higher brightness. Case, input devices, and connectivity (Thunderbolt 4) are at a good level. However, among other things, the GS66 loses points due to the high temperature development in 3D mode and its poor webcam."
