The ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED is a compelling choice for those who prioritize portability, battery life, and a vibrant OLED screen with excellent color reproduction, making it ideal for general use and content consumption. Its sleek design and lower midrange price point make it an attractive option for everyday tasks and light productivity. However, its performance capabilities are more limited compared to the HP Omen 16, particularly for gaming, 3D rendering, and intensive engineering tasks, due to its less powerful GPU and CPU. On the other hand, the HP Omen 16, while priced in the midrange, offers superior performance for gaming, machine learning, and engineering workloads, thanks to its high-end Intel i7 processor and Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics card. It also features a larger 16.1-inch IPS display with a higher refresh rate, which is beneficial for fast-paced gaming and smoother visuals. The Omen 16's robust cooling system and additional RAM support more demanding applications, but this comes at the cost of reduced portability and battery life compared to the ASUS. In summary, if you value a lightweight, long-lasting laptop with a stunning display for everyday use, the ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED is the way to go. However, if you're looking for a powerhouse that can handle intensive tasks and gaming with ease, the HP Omen 16 is the better investment, despite its larger size and higher power consumption. NotebookCheck

Christian Hintze | October 2021
"The Omen 16 has proven to be a fairly good mid-range gaming laptop with all-around improvements compared to the Omen 15. The high overall performance level across all use cases, the long battery life, and the good FHD display constitute the main advantages of this HP laptop. The main drawbacks are the faulty touchpad (one-off?) and the high latencies that can be observed even after just opening the browser. Furthermore, the useless, preinstalled 30-day trial versions of various software also fall under the category "unnecessary"."
