If you value high performance for tasks like engineering applications and can spend more, the LG Gram 16 is a superior choice with a more powerful processor and double the RAM and storage compared to the Asus Vivobook 15. However, the Asus is cost-effective for general use and less demanding tasks. The LG Gram also offers exceptional battery life and a larger, higher-resolution screen which is better for multitasking and media consumption, but it comes at a higher price point. The Asus provides adequate performance for everyday tasks at a budget-friendly price. Both are quite portable, but the LG Gram is notably lighter, enhancing its portability despite its larger screen size. Give Feedback

The LG Gram 16 is good for general use, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook 15 has a basic Intel i3 processor and 8GB of RAM, making it adequate for routine tasks, though its lower screen resolution and brightness could limit display quality compared to the LG Gram 16, which boasts a more powerful Intel i7 processor, double the RAM for smoother multitasking, and a higher-resolution screen that's also brighter, enhancing visual clarity for general use. Additionally, the LG Gram 16's larger battery offers considerably longer life than the Vivobook's, and it is lighter, thus more portable, but these benefits come at a higher cost.

The LG Gram 16 is good for engineering and design, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is only fair.
The LG Gram 16 is better suited for engineering and design because it offers a more powerful processor, double the RAM, and a higher quality GPU, complementing its superior screen with higher resolution and color accuracy. In comparison, the ASUS Vivobook 15, while still capable, falls short with a less powerful processor and GPU, less RAM, and a screen that doesn't match up in terms of color coverage and brightness, although it does have a quiet operation and respectable build quality.

The LG Gram 16 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The ASUS Vivobook 15's screen is satisfactory for general tasks because it offers an acceptable level of sharpness, brightness, and panel quality, but it lacks the wide color gamuts necessary for precision in engineering and design, and its lower refresh rate hinders the smooth visuals crucial for gaming and 3D work. The LG Gram 16 provides a sharper and brighter display that benefits both general use and color-critical engineering tasks due to its high resolution and better color representation, yet like the Vivobook 15, it falls short for gaming and 3D applications because of its less-than-ideal refresh rate.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers LG Gram 16 to be only fair for gaming and AI, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is poor.
The ASUS Vivobook 15 and the LG Gram 16 are both limited in gaming and 3D applications by their integrated graphics and standard screen refresh rates of 60Hz, which can hinder smooth gameplay and render less complex 3D tasks. The LG Gram benefits from a more powerful CPU and a higher-resolution screen, enhancing general performance and visual clarity, but neither are equipped with high-end dedicated GPUs or faster refresh rates needed for intensive gaming and advanced 3D work.

How the ASUS Vivobook 15 and the LG Gram 16 compare to other laptops
"The Asus VivoBook 15 is a quiet office notebook with a strong screen. However, the VivoBook 15 still has room for improvement. Office and internet applications as well as simple games do not pose any major challenges for the VivoBook - this is ensured by the built-in combination of Ryzen 7 5700U APU and 16 GB of RAM. Heat and noise emissions are acceptable. But, the laptop has weaknesses that should not be present at this level: lack of keyboard lighting, a slow memory card reader, no fast USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. Battery runtimes can only be described as average."
"The LG Gram 16 is a lightweight device with stability issues. The LG Gram 16Z90Q with a Core i7-1260P is made with portability in mind and places less of a focus on users with high demands on performance. The compact and light chassis is particularly practical when you are on the go. The device is not only comfortably small and lightweight, it also boasts a great battery life. When connected to mains, on the other hand, the 16-inch device is rather disappointing. The standard cooling mode causes extreme volatility in terms of CPU, SSD and iGPU performance. The meager stability of the chassis may also put off some potential buyers."
