For general use, the ASUS Vivobook 15 will save you money with adequate performance but with less storage and processing power compared to the Lenovo ThinkPad P16. If performance is your priority, especially for 3D, machine learning, or engineering tasks, the ThinkPad P16 with its superior processor, graphics, and larger, high-resolution display stands out, although it is less portable due to heavier weight and lower portability score. The ThinkPad also excels in battery life, build quality, and has a more premium feature set including a better keyboard and ports selection, but it comes at a higher price. Give Feedback

The Lenovo ThinkPad P16 is very good for engineering and design, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook 15 is fair for engineering and design due to its basic CPU, RAM, and integrated graphics which are less suited for demanding tasks, alongside a decent-quality display but lower brightness and color coverage. On the other hand, the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 is very good for these purposes thanks to its high-end CPU, ample RAM, dedicated professional GPU, and high-resolution display with superior brightness and color accuracy, albeit at the cost of reduced portability due to greater weight and size.

The Lenovo ThinkPad P16 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The ASUS Vivobook 15's screen may not have the high resolution, brightness, or color accuracy required by professionals in engineering and design, leading to a fair viewing experience for both tasks and casual use. The Lenovo ThinkPad P16 boasts superior screen fidelity with a brighter display, higher resolution and broader color gamut coverage, making it ideal for detailed engineering work and enjoyable for general media consumption. However, both laptops' screens are less suited for gaming and 3D applications due to lower refresh rates, which can't match the fluid visuals demanded by these intensive visual tasks.

"The Asus VivoBook 15 is a quiet office notebook with a strong screen. However, the VivoBook 15 still has room for improvement. Office and internet applications as well as simple games do not pose any major challenges for the VivoBook - this is ensured by the built-in combination of Ryzen 7 5700U APU and 16 GB of RAM. Heat and noise emissions are acceptable. But, the laptop has weaknesses that should not be present at this level: lack of keyboard lighting, a slow memory card reader, no fast USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. Battery runtimes can only be described as average."
"It's only a few months since we gave the MSI CreatorPro X17 one of our rare 4.5-star ratings and our top mobile workstation honor, but the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 1 matches that achievement in a more premium overall build. Ultimately, its build quality, screen, and keyboard give our latest Editors' Choice nod to the Lenovo—it's enough of a monster on almost all fronts that it simply cannot be ignored."
