When choosing between the ASUS Vivobook 15 and the HP Envy x360 15, consider that the ASUS tends to be less expensive, has a smaller storage capacity, and a less powerful processor compared to the HP. The HP offers twice the storage and comes with a touch screen, lending to better versatility for content interaction but is slightly heavier and typically more expensive. The HP has a marginally larger battery, which could mean longer usage time between charges. If tasks involve 3D rendering, machine learning, or engineering software, the HP's processor and graphics are stronger, but for general use such as browsing and office tasks, both are capable. The ASUS might appeal for its lower price and sufficient performance for everyday tasks, while the HP could be preferable if you need a touch screen, better performance for more demanding software, and additional storage capacity. The HP Envy x360 15" is good for general use, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook 15 has a sufficient processor and memory for basic tasks, but it offers a smaller storage capacity and shorter battery life compared to the HP Envy x360 15", which not only has double the storage but also better battery life, screen brightness, and a touchscreen, making it more versatile as it can be used as a tablet as well. While both have good portability, the HP’s higher quality build, along with its 2-in-1 design, justifies its better suitability for general use.

The HP Envy x360 15" has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 15 for content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the ASUS Vivobook 15 and the HP Envy x360 15" offer displays with adequate resolution and brightness, ensuring a pleasant viewing experience for everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming, but they may not stand out in terms of exceptional sharpness or vibrancy. Engineering and design professionals might find the color accuracy and range on these laptops to be satisfactory for basic tasks, but the screens may not fully cover advanced color gamuts like DCI-P3 or Adobe RGB, which are essential for precise color work. When it comes to 3D and gaming, the lower refresh rates on these laptops may lead to less fluid motion and responsiveness, although the resolution and panel types are suitable for moderate graphical work.

The ASUS Vivobook 15 has a fair performance in gaming and 3D tasks since it's equipped with integrated Intel UHD graphics, which can handle some gaming demands but is less powerful compared to dedicated GPUs, and a standard 60Hz screen refresh rate which is adequate but not optimal for fast-paced games.

How the ASUS Vivobook 15 and the HP Envy x360 15" compare to other laptops
"The Asus VivoBook 15 is a quiet office notebook with a strong screen. However, the VivoBook 15 still has room for improvement. Office and internet applications as well as simple games do not pose any major challenges for the VivoBook - this is ensured by the built-in combination of Ryzen 7 5700U APU and 16 GB of RAM. Heat and noise emissions are acceptable. But, the laptop has weaknesses that should not be present at this level: lack of keyboard lighting, a slow memory card reader, no fast USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. Battery runtimes can only be described as average."
"Despite its good looks, stellar webcam and comfortable keyboard, the Envy x360 15 is hard to recommend because of its dim, 16:9 display. If the display isn't an issue for you, just be sure to wait for a good sale price. Otherwise, a more modern two-in-one with a 16:10 display such as the Dell Inspiron 16 2-in-1 or Lenovo Yoga 7i 16 provides a larger workspace without adding much to the size and weight of the system."
