The ASUS Vivobook 15 is less expensive and offers good battery life, making it suitable for general usage like browsing and office work, with limited storage. However, the Gigabyte G5, with its higher price, features a more powerful processor and graphics card, making it better equipped for gaming, 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks. The G5 has a higher refresh rate display and better heat management for intensive tasks but has significantly lower battery life and is slightly heavier, affecting portability. Neither of these laptops are touchscreen, and both have number pads on their keyboards. Consider the Gigabyte G5 if performance in demanding applications is a priority, or the ASUS Vivobook 15 if you need a more affordable option for everyday tasks with longer battery life. The Gigabyte G5 is good for general use, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook 15 offers a decent balance for general use with its satisfactory screen quality and light weight for better portability, but it's limited by basic CPU horsepower and shorter battery life. On the other hand, the Gigabyte G5 packs a more powerful CPU and superior graphic capabilities making it suitable for more demanding tasks, but this comes at the cost of increased weight and a significantly shorter battery life, which might affect its convenience for on-the-go usage.

The Gigabyte G5 is good for gaming and AI, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is poor.
The Gigabyte G5 outperforms the ASUS Vivobook 15 for gaming and 3D applications mainly due to its superior Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU and a higher screen refresh rate of 144 Hz, compared to the Vivobook's Intel UHD Graphics and 60 Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the more advanced GPU on the G5 can indulge hardware ray tracing and DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling), which are crucial for modern gaming and can considerably enhance visual fidelity and performance.

The Gigabyte G5 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the ASUS Vivobook 15 and Gigabyte G5 offer screens with resolution and brightness that meet everyday needs, but may not impress those who prefer crisper and brighter displays. In engineering and design, the screens on both laptops cover adequate color space, but professionals requiring high color fidelity for precision work might find them lacking. When it comes to gaming and 3D applications, neither laptop's screen refresh rate is geared towards the smooth visuals preferred by enthusiasts, and while resolution and panel type are sufficient, they don't cater to the high standards desired in these activities.

How the ASUS Vivobook 15 and the Gigabyte G5 compare to other laptops
"The Asus VivoBook 15 is a quiet office notebook with a strong screen. However, the VivoBook 15 still has room for improvement. Office and internet applications as well as simple games do not pose any major challenges for the VivoBook - this is ensured by the built-in combination of Ryzen 7 5700U APU and 16 GB of RAM. Heat and noise emissions are acceptable. But, the laptop has weaknesses that should not be present at this level: lack of keyboard lighting, a slow memory card reader, no fast USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. Battery runtimes can only be described as average."
"The Gigabyte G5 KE is a midrange gaming laptop that checks most boxes. Gigabyte makes good use of the Core i5-12500H and RTX 3060 Laptop GPU combo, and we find no untoward issues with overall performance. The dual-fan quad-heatpipe cooling arrangement does well to ensure that the underlying hardware doesn't throttle under load. That being said, the display is below par when compared to 2023 standards, especially when competing devices."
