The ASUS Vivobook 15 offers affordability, decent performance for everyday tasks, and a lighter build which makes it more portable, suitable for general use like browsing the web, office applications, and media consumption. However, it has limited storage and less powerful hardware components. The Gigabyte Aero 17, on the other hand, is more expensive but provides high-end performance suitable for demanding tasks such as 3D rendering, machine learning, and gaming, thanks to its advanced processor, abundant storage, and dedicated graphics card. It has a larger, high-resolution display but is less portable due to its size and weight. Each fits different needs — cost-efficiency and portability versus performance and advanced capabilities. The Gigabyte Aero 17 is very good for engineering and design, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is only fair.
The Gigabyte Aero 17 outperforms the ASUS Vivobook 15 in engineering and design tasks due to its superior CPU, double the RAM, and a far more powerful GPU which is particularly important for rendering and computational workloads. Additionally, the Aero 17 has a higher quality screen with a Mini LED display, greater resolution, and broader color coverage, making it suitable for precise visual tasks, while the Vivobook 15 offers lower specs in these areas but is more portable due to its lighter weight and smaller screen size.

The Gigabyte Aero 17 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The ASUS Vivobook 15 has an adequate display with enough resolution and brightness for typical tasks like browsing or document editing, but it lacks the wider color gamut needed for precision in engineering and design, and its refresh rate is not high enough for smooth 3D visuals. The Gigabyte Aero 17 boasts a superior display with high resolution, excellent brightness, and a broad color gamut that ensures accurate colors for professional design work, but like the Vivobook, it doesn't have the fast refresh rate gamers and 3D creators look for. For everyday use, both laptops offer quality visuals, but those focused on engineering and design should lean towards the Aero 17, while neither is ideal for high-frame-rate gaming or 3D rendering.

"The Asus VivoBook 15 is a quiet office notebook with a strong screen. However, the VivoBook 15 still has room for improvement. Office and internet applications as well as simple games do not pose any major challenges for the VivoBook - this is ensured by the built-in combination of Ryzen 7 5700U APU and 16 GB of RAM. Heat and noise emissions are acceptable. But, the laptop has weaknesses that should not be present at this level: lack of keyboard lighting, a slow memory card reader, no fast USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. Battery runtimes can only be described as average."
"Not only is the Aero 17 a very good laptop for gamers but also for content creators. With the upgrade to the Intel Core i9-11980HK, Gigabyte particularly improved the system performance. In addition, the hardware package is rounded by the extremely fast SSD and 32 GB of working memory in dual-channel mode. Compared to the predecessor, the battery life is reduced only moderately, and the 4K display also basically keeps its good qualities."
