The ASUS Vivobook 15 is less expensive, lightweight, and has a decent battery life, which is good for general use and portability, ideal for everyday tasks, and browsing. However, the Gigabyte A5, while more expensive, offers more storage, better performance for 3D tasks, machine learning, and engineering applications, thanks to its stronger processor and high-end graphics card. It also has a better display refresh rate suitable for gaming, but is heavier and slightly less portable. So, if performance for tasks like gaming, 3D modeling or engineering is a priority, the Gigabyte A5 is the better choice, otherwise for regular usage, the ASUS Vivobook 15 is adequate and more budget-friendly. The Gigabyte A5 is good for general use, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook 15 offers a balanced combination of CPU performance, ample RAM, and screen quality suitable for everyday tasks, but it's slightly less portable and has a shorter battery life compared to the Gigabyte A5, which also boasts comparable CPU and RAM capabilities, higher screen quality, and better portability aspects for on-the-go users. While both laptops will handle general use well, the Gigabyte A5's longer battery life and easier transport make it a more appealing choice for users who prioritize mobility and screen quality, despite the fact that both machines have adequate storage, decent keyboards, and manage heat and noise reasonably well.

The Gigabyte A5 is good for engineering and design, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook 15, with an Intel i3 processor and 8GB of RAM, may be less suitable for rigorous engineering and design tasks compared to the Gigabyte A5, which boasts a more powerful AMD Ryzen 5 processor and 16GB of RAM, alongside a higher-end Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics card. Additionally, the Gigabyte A5 has more storage space and a display with better color coverage, contrast, and a higher refresh rate, which can be significant for design accuracy and fluidity in engineering simulations.

The Gigabyte A5 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The ASUS Vivobook 15 might have a screen that is adequate for everyday tasks due to its resolution and brightness, but for engineering and design work, its color accuracy and range may not meet the standards for precise color work needed in these fields. The Gigabyte A5, with its better color reproduction, provides a more suitable display for engineering and design professionals who require a wider color gamut to ensure their work is displayed correctly. However, for gaming and 3D work, neither laptop is ideal as they lack high refresh rates, which are critical for smooth motion and an immersive experience.

"The Asus VivoBook 15 is a quiet office notebook with a strong screen. However, the VivoBook 15 still has room for improvement. Office and internet applications as well as simple games do not pose any major challenges for the VivoBook - this is ensured by the built-in combination of Ryzen 7 5700U APU and 16 GB of RAM. Heat and noise emissions are acceptable. But, the laptop has weaknesses that should not be present at this level: lack of keyboard lighting, a slow memory card reader, no fast USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. Battery runtimes can only be described as average."
"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
