The ASUS Vivobook 15 and Dell Latitude 14 7490 cater to different priorities. The Vivobook's Intel i3 processor is less powerful than the i7 in the Latitude, which means the Latitude could better handle intensive tasks such as engineering software or complex calculations. Despite being slightly cheaper, the Latitude 14 has more storage and memory, which are crucial for multitasking and data-intensive workloads. In contrast, the Vivobook 15's larger screen may be better for users who prioritize a bigger display for multimedia use, though it’s a bit heavier, affecting portability. The Latitude's longer history indicates a proven track record but could also mean it's due for an update soon. Both come with different versions of Windows, which might affect compatibility with certain applications, with the Vivobook running Windows 11 Home and the Latitude Windows 10 Pro. Ultimately, the better choice depends on whether you need more performance and storage or prefer a more recent model with potentially newer features and a larger screen. Give Feedback

The Dell Latitude 14 7490 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the ASUS Vivobook 15 offers a display that is sufficient in clarity and brightness for everyday tasks, but the Dell Latitude 14 7490's higher resolution and brighter panel provide a crisper and more vibrant viewing experience. In the realm of engineering and design, the Dell Latitude is preferable due to its wider color gamut coverage, ensuring more accurate color reproduction crucial for precision work, while the Vivobook's more limited color range may not be ideal for professional color work. When it comes to gaming and 3D applications, both laptops may not satisfy avid gamers because of their lower refresh rates, but their screen resolutions and panel types offer acceptable visual clarity for casual gaming and basic 3D tasks.

How the ASUS Vivobook 15 and the Dell Latitude 14 7490 compare to other laptops
"The Asus VivoBook 15 is a quiet office notebook with a strong screen. However, the VivoBook 15 still has room for improvement. Office and internet applications as well as simple games do not pose any major challenges for the VivoBook - this is ensured by the built-in combination of Ryzen 7 5700U APU and 16 GB of RAM. Heat and noise emissions are acceptable. But, the laptop has weaknesses that should not be present at this level: lack of keyboard lighting, a slow memory card reader, no fast USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. Battery runtimes can only be described as average."
"The Dell Latitude 7490's got the speed you need (and then some), a keyboard that's comfortable enough for writing all day long and a battery that supports a full 8-hour workday. If only the display were brighter and it managed heat better. If you need every minute of battery life you can get, the extended-battery version of the Lenovo ThinkPad T480 lasts 8 hours longer than the Latitude 7490, but its display is much less colorful."
