The ASUS Vivobook 15 is a more budget-friendly option, offering basic performance suitable for general use with lower storage capacity and memory compared to the Dell Inspiron 16 5620. If you require more storage and better multitasking capabilities for activities like engineering tasks, the Dell model, which has a larger screen and more powerful processor, would be the better choice despite its slightly higher price. Both laptops are similarly portable, but the Dell has a slightly better battery life and keyboard quality, which can be important for long working hours without access to power. Neither is designed for intensive gaming or professional-level creative work. Give Feedback

The Dell Inspiron 16 5620 is good for general use, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is only fair.
The Dell Inspiron 16 5620 outperforms the ASUS Vivobook 15 for general use because it boasts a stronger CPU and double the RAM, improving multitasking and overall speed, while its higher-resolution screen enhances visual clarity for various tasks; these factors contribute to its 'good' designation compared to the 'fair' one for the Vivobook which, despite being lighter and thus more portable, lacks the same level of performance and screen quality. However, the Dell's increased capabilities and screen size come with a slight tradeoff in terms of additional weight and a modest reduction in portability.

The Dell Inspiron 16 5620 is good for engineering and design, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook 15 is considered fair for engineering and design due to its basic Intel i3 processor, moderate amount of RAM, and integrated graphics, which are less suitable for demanding tasks, along with a standard Full HD screen. In contrast, the Dell Inspiron 16 5620 is deemed good for these uses because it features a more capable Intel i5 processor, double the RAM for better multitasking, and superior Intel Iris Xe graphics, as well as a screen with higher resolution and better color accuracy, which is important for design work.

The Dell Inspiron 16 5620 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 15 for content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the ASUS Vivobook 15 and the Dell Inspiron 16 5620 provide screens that are adequate in resolution and brightness, ensuring a comfortable viewing experience for everyday tasks. However, for engineering and design work where accurate color representation is crucial, both laptops' displays may fall short in reproducing the full spectrum of colors found in professional DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB color spaces. When it comes to gaming and 3D, the importance of a high refresh rate for smooth motion rendering is not met by either laptop, while their resolution and panel type may also be less optimal for an immersive gaming experience.
Battery

8.0 Hours
The ASUS Vivobook 15 has 6 hours of battery life. The Dell Inspiron 16 5620 has 8 hours of battery life.
Battery life estimate is based on a mix of common use patterns. More portable and higher performing laptops tend to have less battery life.
Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Dell Inspiron 16 5620 to be only fair for gaming and AI, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is poor.
The ASUS Vivobook 15 is fair for gaming and 3D due to its integrated UHD Graphics, while the Dell Inspiron 16 5620 offers slightly better performance with its Iris Xe graphics, but both are limited by their standard 60Hz screen refresh rates. Neither is ideal for high-end gaming or 3D work, which often benefit from more powerful dedicated GPUs and higher refresh rates, but for casual gaming and 3D tasks, they can be adequate options.

How the ASUS Vivobook 15 and the Dell Inspiron 16 5620 compare to other laptops
"The Asus VivoBook 15 is a quiet office notebook with a strong screen. However, the VivoBook 15 still has room for improvement. Office and internet applications as well as simple games do not pose any major challenges for the VivoBook - this is ensured by the built-in combination of Ryzen 7 5700U APU and 16 GB of RAM. Heat and noise emissions are acceptable. But, the laptop has weaknesses that should not be present at this level: lack of keyboard lighting, a slow memory card reader, no fast USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. Battery runtimes can only be described as average."
"If the world is exciting enough right now, you can do far worse than a solid performer that you know will get the job done. Our review model is as powerful as you'd want an office machine to be unless you're performing specialist tasks and the price point is pretty attractive (unless work will let you have a MacBook Air instead)."
