The ASUS Vivobook 16 is good for general use, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook 15 offers moderate performance with an Intel i3 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB storage, which may be adequate for light everyday tasks but could lag for more demanding applications; it has a standard screen resolution and size that provides a fair visual experience, and while it's slightly lighter, it also has a shorter battery life compared to the ASUS Vivobook 16. In contrast, the ASUS Vivobook 16 is equipped with a more powerful AMD Ryzen 7 processor, double the RAM at 16GB, and a much larger storage capacity of 1024GB, featuring a slightly larger and brighter screen with a higher contrast ratio, which altogether make it better suited for more intensive general use, but this comes at the expense of being heavier and thus less portable.

The ASUS Vivobook 16 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 15 for general use, content creation, and software development.
Both the ASUS Vivobook 15 and 16 offer screens that are suitable for everyday tasks like browsing and document editing due to their acceptable resolution and brightness, but professionals in engineering and design might find the color accuracy lacking for precise work. These models do not cater well to gamers or those doing 3D work because the refresh rates are not high enough for smooth visuals, and while the resolution and panel type are decent, they don't match the higher standards required for those fields. Consequently, these laptops are average for general and professional tasks, but not recommended for high-end gaming or 3D modeling.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers ASUS Vivobook 16 to be only fair for gaming and AI, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is poor.
The ASUS Vivobook 15, with its Intel i3-1215U UHD Graphics and 60 Hz screen refresh rate, offers modest gaming and 3D capabilities; accordingly, the ASUS Vivobook 16 with a slightly more powerful AMD Ryzen 7 7730U Vega 8 GPU and the same 60 Hz refresh rate, also provides a fair gaming experience, but won't manage the most demanding games smoothly. Both are restricted by their refresh rates when it comes to high-speed gaming which requires more frames per second, and neither are outfitted with top-tier GPUs needed for high-performance gaming or complex 3D tasks.

How the ASUS Vivobook 15 and the ASUS Vivobook 16 compare to other laptops
"The Asus VivoBook 15 is a quiet office notebook with a strong screen. However, the VivoBook 15 still has room for improvement. Office and internet applications as well as simple games do not pose any major challenges for the VivoBook - this is ensured by the built-in combination of Ryzen 7 5700U APU and 16 GB of RAM. Heat and noise emissions are acceptable. But, the laptop has weaknesses that should not be present at this level: lack of keyboard lighting, a slow memory card reader, no fast USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. Battery runtimes can only be described as average."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, Yannick Khong | May 2023
"The ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605 (2023) is a budget Windows laptop. It's available with various AMD Ryzen 5000 and 7000 U-series CPUs and integrated graphics. You can only get 8GB of RAM; however, there's an empty SO-DIMM slot if you want to upgrade it. It has an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 16:10 IPS display, a full-size keyboard with a Numpad, a 720p webcam, and Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity. Ports include three USB-As, one USB-C, an HDMI, and a headphone jack. The USB-C supports charging but no video output."
