The ASUS Vivobook 14 is less expensive than the Gateway 15.6" and offers portability with a lighter weight, making it ideal for on-the-go users who prioritize a budget-friendly option and need something easy to carry. However, the Gateway 15.6" provides more storage and memory, which might be essential for users requiring better performance for multitasking and more demanding applications. The larger screen size of the Gateway may appeal to those who prefer a bigger display for their work or entertainment, but it comes with added weight and a slightly higher price. Give Feedback

The ASUS Vivobook 14 has a better screen than the Gateway 15.6" for engineering and design, while the Gateway 15.6" has a better screen for software development.
For general use, both the ASUS Vivobook 14 and the Gateway 15.6" have screens that provide adequate resolution and brightness, but they may not offer the superior clarity or vibrancy found in higher-end panels. Engineering and design professionals might find the color reproduction, particularly in professional color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, to be less accurate than desired for precision work. Gamers and those into 3D work will notice that the refresh rates on these models are lower, which could affect the smoothness of fast-paced visuals, although the resolution and panel type are decent enough for moderate use.

The ASUS Vivobook 14, with a smaller screen and lower weight, offers better portability and hence is rated very good for that aspect compared to the Gateway 15.6" but falls short due to its lesser RAM and storage, which impacts its general use performance favorably seen in the Gateway 15.6". Despite both having similar CPU and screen quality, the Gateway's additional memory and double the storage capacity provide a smoother experience for general use, although the Vivobook compensates with better portability and battery life.

How the ASUS Vivobook 14 and the Gateway 15.6" compare to other laptops
"Some concessions have to be made when shopping for a budget laptop. Walmart's Gateway Ultra Slim laptops succeeds on the affordability front and delivers serviceable specs and good battery life, though it's hard to claim it's the best (or even particularly good) at any particular aspect. Its build quality, especially the touchpad, is mediocre, and its performance is decent but doesn't lead the way. The Gateway does undercut the cost of some competitors and offers ample storage with good connectivity, so it's not to be ignored."
