When deciding between the ASUS TUF Gaming A17 and the Dell Alienware m18 R1, consider the following key differences: The ASUS is less expensive, has a midrange processor and GPU suitable for gaming and general use, and offers decent battery life and portability. On the other hand, the Dell Alienware is higher in price with a more powerful processor and GPU, making it excellent for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks, but less portable due to its heavier weight and shorter battery life. Both have similar screen sizes and high-quality displays, but the Dell's display is sharper and brighter with better color coverage, which can be advantageous for creative professionals. Alex Iliev | April 2022
"There is one big question that needs an answer. Is the TUF Gaming A17 FA707 a better purchase than the ROG Strix G17 G713R (2022)? Well, it depends. Undoubtedly, the Strix is the more premium product. Arguably the biggest advantage it has over its TUF fellow is in regards to the display. ASUS TUF Gaming A17 A707’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a very good contrast ratio."

Matthew Buzzi | July 2023
"Dell's Alienware m18 delivers on its promises: This is a large, powerful gaming laptop with the premium flair and feel you expect from an expensive purchase. The drawbacks are really the price and battery life, which in context are reasonable. (We'd also like to see more ports on the laptop's sides.) This price tier exists for deep-pocketed enthusiasts, and if you’re considering anything in this range, the m18 isn’t an outlier. For the majority of shoppers, of course, all of these mighty 18-inch systems are likely too expensive."
