The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 will offer superior gaming performance and is likely better for intensive engineering tasks due to its larger screen and higher refresh rate, which provides smoother visuals. However, it's also heavier, making it less portable than the Razer Blade 15. The Razer Blade 15, on the other hand, has a higher resolution display which is sharper and could be beneficial for design work, but it may not be as powerful for some of the most demanding tasks. It is lighter, offering better portability, and it also includes a higher quality webcam and speaker system. If battery life is a significant concern, the ASUS marginally outperforms the Razer Blade 15. Your decision should hinge on whether portability and display sharpness (Razer Blade 15) or gaming and task performance with a slight battery advantage (ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17) is your priority. How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 and the Razer Blade 15 compare to other laptops
"Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 laptop review: liquid metal 7 nm AMD Zen 3 is stunning. The raw performance increase is absolutely bonkers if you're upgrading from a laptop on Coffee Lake-H or older. The 45 W Ryzen 9 5900HX is neck-to-neck with the thicker, heavier, and hotter Schenker Ultra 17 running on a desktop-class Core i9-11900K despite their wide TDP differences. The performance-per-watt advantages can make Intel Rocket Lake feel like a last generation platform at times. As for the chassis itself, it's a huge light show with RGB LEDs on almost all sides of the system."
"The 2022 Blade 15 offers roughly 15 to 25 percent faster graphics performance and 20 percent faster CPU performance over last year's Core i7-11800H and RTX 3080 model. Thankfully, the system doesn't need to run noticeably louder or warmer to achieve faster results, but both power consumption and battery life take a hit. The higher consumption in particular appears to be a trend amongst many 12th gen Core laptops including the Schenker Uniwill Technology GM7AG8P or MSI Vector GP66 when compared to their previous generation counterparts. We're also glad to not see below-average CPU performance which was the case for the 10th gen Core i7-10875H model."
