The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 usually comes at a somewhat less expensive price compared to the MSI Raider GE76, which is high-end priced. For tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering, the MSI has an edge with more RAM and a higher-end graphics card, making it well-suited for intensive tasks. The MSI also features a higher resolution display, leading to clearer and more detailed visuals, which could be beneficial for design work. However, the ASUS has a higher refresh rate screen, which could be advantageous for gaming by providing smoother motion. In terms of battery life, both offer similar usage times, so neither stands out as a leader there. The ASUS may have slightly better heat management and is quieter, which could improve comfort during long use sessions. Both models are quite heavy and similar in size, so portability is limited for each, though their large screens are favorable for productivity and entertainment. If budget is a consideration and your usage includes general tasks and gaming, the ASUS might be more cost-effective, but if you require peak performance for professional creative tasks or more intensive engineering software and can afford the higher price, the MSI is likely the better fit. How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 and the MSI Raider GE76 compare to other laptops
"Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 laptop review: liquid metal 7 nm AMD Zen 3 is stunning. The raw performance increase is absolutely bonkers if you're upgrading from a laptop on Coffee Lake-H or older. The 45 W Ryzen 9 5900HX is neck-to-neck with the thicker, heavier, and hotter Schenker Ultra 17 running on a desktop-class Core i9-11900K despite their wide TDP differences. The performance-per-watt advantages can make Intel Rocket Lake feel like a last generation platform at times. As for the chassis itself, it's a huge light show with RGB LEDs on almost all sides of the system."
"The MSI Raider GE76: with Alder Lake and RTX 3080 Ti to gaming heaven. Yes, MSI could improve some aspects (like the quality of the webcam), but the manufacturer offers a very convincing and balanced overall package. The biggest advantage is definitely the immense performance potential. The combination of Core i9-12900HK, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, 32 GB DDR5 RAM and two NVMe SSDs offers a lot of performance for the next couple of years and plenty of power for 3D applications. Most titles would run smoothly on an external 4K screen no matter the quality preset. We came away impressed with the integrated 360 Hz panel's fast response times and good color accuracy."
