The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 offers top-end gaming performance and has a large, fast-refreshing screen suitable for intensive gaming and demanding tasks, but it's heavy and less portable. On the other hand, the MSI Prestige 14 is more portable, less expensive, and offers good performance for general use and business tasks with decent battery life, but it's not designed for gaming or engineering applications and its performance may not be sufficient for demanding 3D tasks or machine learning workloads. Your choice should reflect whether performance or portability and price are your primary concerns. Give Feedback

Both the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 and MSI Prestige 14 have displays with high resolution and brightness, making them well-suited for general use where clarity and visibility are key. Their coverage of color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB ensures that colors are accurately represented for tasks in engineering and design, where precision in color is essential. However, they lack high refresh rates which are crucial for smooth rendering in gaming and 3D applications, making them less optimal for those activities where visual fluidity is a priority.

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 and the MSI Prestige 14 compare to other laptops
"Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 laptop review: liquid metal 7 nm AMD Zen 3 is stunning. The raw performance increase is absolutely bonkers if you're upgrading from a laptop on Coffee Lake-H or older. The 45 W Ryzen 9 5900HX is neck-to-neck with the thicker, heavier, and hotter Schenker Ultra 17 running on a desktop-class Core i9-11900K despite their wide TDP differences. The performance-per-watt advantages can make Intel Rocket Lake feel like a last generation platform at times. As for the chassis itself, it's a huge light show with RGB LEDs on almost all sides of the system."
"The MSI Prestige 14” is excellent for productivity and business use cases, but it is not ideal for creators or visual content editors. The Prestige was able to power through days of email, spreadsheets, and text documents without breaking a sweat and was a joy to use. The additional ports were a breath of fresh air, as most laptops seem to be moving towards just Thunderbolt ports. The security options made signing in effortless, with two quick, more secure, and faster options than even the most complex alphanumeric passcode."
