Choosing between the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 and the Eluktronics RP-15 involves considering their strengths in different areas. The ASUS model offers superior graphics and processing power, making it more suitable for intensive gaming, engineering applications, and 3D/machine learning tasks. However, it is heavier and bulkier, lessening its portability, and typically comes at a premium price. On the other hand, the Eluktronics RP-15, while more affordably priced, offers a higher-resolution display, lighter weight for greater portability, and a longer battery life for general usage, but it may not handle demanding tasks as smoothly as the ASUS. How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 and the Eluktronics RP-15 compare to other laptops
"Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 laptop review: liquid metal 7 nm AMD Zen 3 is stunning. The raw performance increase is absolutely bonkers if you're upgrading from a laptop on Coffee Lake-H or older. The 45 W Ryzen 9 5900HX is neck-to-neck with the thicker, heavier, and hotter Schenker Ultra 17 running on a desktop-class Core i9-11900K despite their wide TDP differences. The performance-per-watt advantages can make Intel Rocket Lake feel like a last generation platform at times. As for the chassis itself, it's a huge light show with RGB LEDs on almost all sides of the system."
"To conclude, I’m genuinely impressed with Eluktronics and what they have been able to deliver with the RP-15. You see this is all about maximizing performance, cooling, and giving users the most flexible I/O, and then wrapping it into a chassis that doesn’t feel super cheap. Let’s also not forget the price point, I think they have really nailed it in that department."
