For high-intensity tasks like gaming and engineering, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 will offer superior performance with its powerful processor and graphics card but costs more and is heavier, which makes it less convenient to carry around. Conversely, the Dell Inspiron 14 7435 is more affordable, lighter, offers a touchscreen, and is more suited to general use with a higher battery life, yet it won't perform as well as ASUS for demanding tasks like 3D rendering due to its less powerful integrated graphics. Choose ASUS for performance-focused needs, or Dell for portability and general use. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 has a better screen than the Dell Inpsiron 14 7435 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
Considering the needs for general use, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 offers a bright display with high resolution, making text sharp and colors pop, which is less the case with the Dell Inspiron 14's more modest display. When looking at engineering and design, professionals require precise colors, which the ASUS provides through a wide color gamut, while the Dell's color range may be more constrained, affecting accuracy. For gaming and 3D applications, a high refresh rate is key for smooth motion; the ASUS falls short in this regard as it prioritizes color and resolution over refresh rate, whereas for the Dell, its lower refresh rate also impacts gameplay fluidity, but it also doesn't provide high resolution or color fidelity.

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 and the Dell Inpsiron 14 7435 compare to other laptops
"Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 laptop review: liquid metal 7 nm AMD Zen 3 is stunning. The raw performance increase is absolutely bonkers if you're upgrading from a laptop on Coffee Lake-H or older. The 45 W Ryzen 9 5900HX is neck-to-neck with the thicker, heavier, and hotter Schenker Ultra 17 running on a desktop-class Core i9-11900K despite their wide TDP differences. The performance-per-watt advantages can make Intel Rocket Lake feel like a last generation platform at times. As for the chassis itself, it's a huge light show with RGB LEDs on almost all sides of the system."
"We see no shame in an economy laptop missing the four-star mark. Frankly, we considered giving the Inspiron 14 2-in-1 three-and-a-half stars for its low price, competitive performance, and long battery life. Unfortunately, working with a screen that can't deliver at least 300 nits of brightness is simply no fun to the point of detrimental. Still, if you're looking for a convertible laptop on a tight budget, it's worth keeping an eye on Dell's sales and discounts. That Lavender Blue model is fairly tempting."
