The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 is a powerhouse designed for high-performance tasks such as gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning, with its robust Intel i9 processor and Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti GPU, ensuring top-tier performance in these areas. However, its larger size and weight make it less portable, and it has a shorter battery life, which might not be ideal if you need to work on the go. Its 17.3-inch IPS display with a 360Hz refresh rate is excellent for fast-paced gaming but isn't touch-enabled and has a lower PPI compared to the Vivobook. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED offers a more compact and lightweight design with an exceptional OLED display that boasts vibrant colors and higher pixel density, making it great for general use and media consumption. While it's not as powerful as the Strix Scar 17, its Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and Intel Arc GPU are sufficient for everyday tasks and some light gaming or creative work. It also has a longer battery life, which is beneficial for users who are often mobile. In summary, if you prioritize raw performance and gaming capabilities over portability and battery life, the Strix Scar 17 is the way to go. However, if you value a stunning display, portability, and longer battery life for everyday use, the Vivobook S 14 OLED would be the better choice. Give Feedback

Allen Ngo | May 2021
"Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 laptop review: liquid metal 7 nm AMD Zen 3 is stunning. The raw performance increase is absolutely bonkers if you're upgrading from a laptop on Coffee Lake-H or older. The 45 W Ryzen 9 5900HX is neck-to-neck with the thicker, heavier, and hotter Schenker Ultra 17 running on a desktop-class Core i9-11900K despite their wide TDP differences. The performance-per-watt advantages can make Intel Rocket Lake feel like a last generation platform at times. As for the chassis itself, it's a huge light show with RGB LEDs on almost all sides of the system."
