The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 is tailored for high-performance activities such as gaming, 3D modeling, and machine learning, with a likely tradeoff in battery life, weight, and cost. On the other hand, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x is more portable and budget-friendly, ideal for general use and business tasks but may fall short on demanding applications due to less powerful hardware. Choose the Asus if performance is a priority and you're okay with a heavier and pricier laptop, or the Lenovo if you prefer a lighter, more affordable device for everyday use, accepting that it won't excel in intensive tasks. The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is very good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a high-end GPU and a screen with a fast refresh rate, making it ideal for gaming and 3D applications that require smooth and responsive visuals. On the other hand, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x, while it has a decent CPU and screen quality, doesn't match the ASUS's performance in gaming and 3D because its GPU and refresh rate are not as advanced.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x is good.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15, with its high-end CPU, ample RAM, and powerful GPU, offers superior performance for demanding engineering tasks and has a high-quality screen, while the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x, though equipped with good hardware for most engineering needs, trades some power for a lighter, more portable design, and quieter operation. Keep in mind, though, the ThinkBook's portability comes with a compromise on the sheer performance and screen size that the ASUS provides, making the latter a better choice if your priority is top-notch performance for complex engineering software and visual clarity.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a better screen than the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x has a better screen for general use, engineering and design, and content creation.
For general use, a laptop screen should offer clear, crisp visuals, which means high resolution and brightness are important; both the ASUS and Lenovo deliver in this regard, with the Lenovo offering slightly better visual clarity and brightness. Engineers and designers require accurate color representation for their work, making wide color gamuts essential; in this respect, both laptops are equipped well, yet the Lenovo has a slight edge due to its superior color range coverage. When it comes to gaming and 3D applications, a high refresh rate is crucial for fluid motion, and in this area, both the ASUS and Lenovo may not satisfy the most demanding gamers, as their focus on screen quality for other uses limits their refresh rate performance.

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
