The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is a powerhouse for gaming and intensive tasks like 3D rendering or machine learning, with a high-performance Intel i9 processor and Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti graphics card, ensuring top-tier performance. It has a robust build and a fast 300Hz refresh rate screen, which is excellent for gaming but less battery life at around 5.5 hours. It's heavier and less portable, making it more suitable for stationary use.
In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 14 offers a balance between performance and portability with its slim and lightweight design, and a longer battery life of about 10 hours, ideal for on-the-go professionals. Its Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor and Adreno 750 GPU are capable of handling general tasks efficiently, and the vibrant OLED touchscreen with a high resolution of 2880 x 1800 is perfect for visual tasks. However, it may not match the ASUS in raw performance for demanding applications.
If you prioritize top-tier gaming and work performance over portability and battery life, the ASUS is the way to go. But if you need a versatile, long-lasting device that excels in everyday use and can handle general workloads while being easy to carry around, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 14 would be a better fit. How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 14 compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
