When choosing between the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the MSI Thin GF63, consider that the ASUS offers top-notch performance suitable for intensive tasks like gaming, 3D rendering, or machine learning, alongside a high refresh rate screen, more robust build quality, and a more powerful graphics card. On the downside, it's heavier and has a shorter battery life, making it less portable. Conversely, the MSI Thin GF63, while also good for general use and lighter gaming, trades some performance for a significantly longer battery life and lighter weight, making it more portable and easier to carry around, all for a lower price. If budget is a concern and your main activities don't require the highest specifications, the MSI could serve you well; otherwise, for heavy-duty tasks and better build, the ASUS is the better option despite its higher price and reduced mobility. How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the MSI Thin GF63 compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"The MSI GF63 Thin 11SC can be an admirable value for gamers and power users on a minimal budget. For just $599 as reviewed in its base model, its Intel Core i5 H-class processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 graphics perform much better than low-wattage CPUs and integrated graphics. That said, this is a light-class gaming laptop. Low scores in our demanding gaming benchmarks indicate using lower visual-quality settings will be required for playable performance."
