If you plan to use your laptop for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, or machine learning tasks, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 with its powerful GPU and high screen refresh rate would be a better choice. However, it's heavier, has a shorter battery life, and is typically more expensive. On the other hand, the LG Gram 17 is lighter, offers a significantly longer battery life, and a higher resolution screen, making it more suited for general use, and it also comes at a lower price point. It has ample storage and memory, but its integrated graphics aren't designed for heavy gaming or high-performance tasks. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a better screen than the LG Gram 17 for gaming and AI, while the LG Gram 17 has a better screen for content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the ASUS and the LG laptops provide crisp, vivid visuals with ample resolution and brightness, which makes text easy to read and colors pop, enhancing the overall viewing experience. When it comes to engineering and design, both laptops offer wide color gamuts, ensuring that designers and engineers see accurate colors and subtle gradients, critical for precision work. However, for gaming and 3D applications where fast-paced visuals are key, the refresh rates on these laptops may not be high enough, resulting in less smooth motion and potential screen tearing, which can detract from the immersive experience.

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the LG Gram 17 compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"The LG Gram 17 is a light office laptop with a large display and great battery life. The newest incarnation of the Gram 17 can be classified as a model update. LG uses the predecessor's compact, light magnesium case along with an identical port configuration (including 2x Thunderbolt 4) and keyboard. Changes can be found in the hardware. With the Gram 17 (2022), LG offers a light (approx. 1,350 g), mobile work device - and finally with a matte display."
