The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 offers better performance for intensive tasks like gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering software due to its powerful CPU and GPU, but it's heavier, less portable, and has shorter battery life. If portability and longer battery usage are paramount, and you're predominantly performing general use tasks, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i is lighter, with longer battery life, but it isn't as suitable for performance-intensive tasks due to its less powerful processor and integrated graphics. Choose the ASUS if high performance is a priority and the Lenovo for better battery life and portability with sufficient capability for everyday tasks. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is very good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 excels in gaming and 3D applications due to its superior Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti graphics card and a high screen refresh rate of 300Hz, which ensures smoother visuals and better performance in fast-paced games. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i, with its integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics and a standard refresh rate of 60Hz, offers decent performance for less demanding games and 3D tasks, but it won't match the fluidity or detail that the ASUS can provide.

Regarding engineering and design, their screens display a wide range of colors, meeting the needs of professionals who require accuracy for tasks such as photo editing and CAD work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, both laptops fall short on refresh rates, which is key for smooth motion and responsiveness, hence they may not provide the most fluid visual experience in fast-paced games or high-speed 3D rendering.

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"Among Lenovo's multiple laptop brands, the IdeaPad family is decidedly the one designed for consumers: people who want decent performance at a reasonable price. Consider, then, this laptop a paragon for the pickier members of that crowd. With a 14-inch touch-enabled display, a comfortable keyboard, an Evo-certified Intel Core i7 11th Generation CPU, and the latest Windows 11 operating system, the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro ultraportable ($1,199 as tested) is a slick mainstream machine at a bit of a premium price, and quite capable for everyday tasks."
