The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is good for general use, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14" is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 offers superior CPU and graphics performance, more RAM, and a high-quality screen, making it well-suited for general use that may require intensive applications, but its battery life and weight affect its portability. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 has decent specs for everyday tasks, a longer battery life, and is more portable due to its lighter weight and compact size, but its lower RAM and CPU capabilities limit its performance for more demanding software.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is very good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14" is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is better for gaming and 3D applications because it has a powerful Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti graphics card and a high screen refresh rate of 300, which are crucial for fast-paced, visually intensive tasks. In comparison, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 has an integrated AMD Vega 7 GPU with a lower refresh rate of 60, resulting in less graphical power and slower screen updates, which may not be as smooth for gaming or 3D work.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15, with its emphasis on high resolution and color accuracy, offers a display well-suited for both general use and detail-oriented tasks like engineering and design, but its lower refresh rate may not be ideal for the fast-paced visuals required in gaming and 3D work. The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14" delivers adequate image quality with sufficient resolution and brightness, making it fair for everyday tasks and professional design work without specializing in either area. However, its smaller size, along with moderate color gamut coverage, mean that both laptops aren't tailored for the high refresh rates and the intense visual demands of gaming and 3D applications.

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14" compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"The low-priced IdeaPad 3 14 delivers on core functionality. Lenovo's IdeaPad 3 14 meets all the basic requirements for an inexpensive office laptop. The matte IPS display is bright enough, the performance is high for the class, and the input devices are rock solid. In addition, the mostly quiet operation including the useful performance modes, cool surface temperatures, easy maintainability as well as expandable working and mass storage all contribute to the IdeaPad 3 14's value proposition."
