The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is often somewhat more expensive but offers a faster refresh rate and higher screen pixel density, which can be great for gaming and general use. It also has a slightly better portability score and more available RAM slots for future upgrades. On the other hand, the HP Omen 17 has a larger and higher resolution screen, which might be preferable for engineering and multimedia tasks. It includes a more powerful GPU and is somewhat less expensive, but it's heavier and has a lower portability score, making it less ideal for carrying around. Both laptops have a similar battery life for typical usage and are suitable for intensive gaming. Choose the ASUS if prioritizing portability and gaming performance or the HP Omen for better graphic capabilities and larger screen real estate for productivity. Give Feedback

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the HP Omen 17 compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"The HP Omen 17 (2022) gaming laptop has a stylish case and hardware with lots of potential. The HP Omen 17 is a fairly unobtrusive gaming laptop. A material combination of plastic and metal gives the case a high stability and a quality surface feel. The unspectacular design is pleasing and is hardly indicative of the laptop's high performance potential. The Intel Core i7-12700H in particular is able to perform well once again. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is also strong in the gaming notebook. Demanding games run smoothly in Full HD resolution. The HP Omen 17 is a good gaming laptop that delivers partly excellent performance. But even at this performance level, cheaper alternatives are available."
