The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is a high-performance laptop with an Intel i9 processor and Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti graphics, making it excellent for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering work, and it features a high refresh rate display which is great for fast-paced action. However, it comes at a higher price than the Gigabyte Aorus 7, which despite having a larger screen, is equipped with an Intel i5 processor and Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics, provides less performance but is more affordable and offers slightly better battery life. Neither option is particularly lightweight or compact, so portability might be a concern for both. If high-performance gaming and tasks are your priority and the budget allows, go for the ASUS; if you prefer a larger screen and slightly longer battery life at a lower cost, the Gigabyte could be the better option. The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is very good for gaming and AI, while the Gigabyte Aorus 7 is good.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is highly regarded for gaming and 3D because of its powerful Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti GPU and a high screen refresh rate of 300Hz, complemented by a higher-end Intel i9-12900H CPU that boosts its performance. On the other hand, the Gigabyte Aorus 7 is good for similar tasks, owing to a capable Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU and a slightly higher screen refresh rate of 360Hz, although it is paired with a less powerful Intel i5-12500H CPU which may not perform as well in extremely demanding tasks.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a better screen than the Gigabyte Aorus 7 for content creation, while the Gigabyte Aorus 7 has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
For general use, a laptop with a bright, high-resolution display offers clear and vivid images, making the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 suitable but the Gigabyte Aorus 7 with its very good screen excels further in providing an impressive visual experience. When it comes to engineering and design, accurate color representation is crucial, and both laptops offer good color coverage essential for professional creative work, but neither is optimal for color-critical tasks. However, for gaming and 3D applications where a high refresh rate ensures smooth motion and responsiveness, both the ASUS and Gigabyte models fall short, as they don't prioritize the faster screen refresh rates necessary for an optimal gaming experience.

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the Gigabyte Aorus 7 compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"The Gigabyte Aorus 7 is a gaming laptop that is pitched at perhaps the hardest market to get right: the mid-range. So, unlike high-end gaming laptops that can throw the latest and greatest components together in a bid to attract gamers with plenty of money to spend, or budget gaming laptops that can make wise cuts that are justified as long as the price is low enough, mid-rangers like the Gigabyte Aorus 7 have to balance the two."
