If you prioritize gaming or demanding tasks like video editing, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a faster processor and a more powerful graphics card than the Dell Latitude 14 7490; however, it's more expensive, heavier, and may have shorter battery life. Conversely, the Dell is lighter with potentially better battery life and less expensive, which makes it suitable for general use and business tasks. The Dell's modest graphics capabilities could limit its performance in 3D applications or games significantly when compared with the Asus. If portability and cost are more critical for you, and your tasks don't involve intensive graphics or processing requirements, the Dell could serve you well. Choose the ASUS if you need top-tier performance and are okay with a heavier laptop and higher price. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a better screen than the Dell Latitude 14 7490 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 likely offers a high-resolution display with vibrant colors and sufficient brightness, making it suitable for everyday tasks and detailed engineering work, but its lower refresh rate may diminish the smoothness desired in gaming and 3D applications. The Dell Latitude 14 7490, while providing a fair resolution and brightness for general use, probably excels in accurate color representation essential for engineering and design, but similarly falls short for gaming and 3D due to a less-than-ideal refresh rate. Both laptops may have the panel type that supports wide color gamuts, but without high refresh rates, they aren't optimal for fast-paced visual content.

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the Dell Latitude 14 7490 compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"The Dell Latitude 7490's got the speed you need (and then some), a keyboard that's comfortable enough for writing all day long and a battery that supports a full 8-hour workday. If only the display were brighter and it managed heat better. If you need every minute of battery life you can get, the extended-battery version of the Lenovo ThinkPad T480 lasts 8 hours longer than the Latitude 7490, but its display is much less colorful."
