When choosing between the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED, if you prioritize gaming or intensive engineering applications, the Strix Scar 15 offers better performance due to its higher-end processor and advanced graphics card. However, it's heavier and has a shorter battery life, making it less portable. For daily general use with a preference for vibrant screen colors and portability, the Zenbook 14X OLED is lighter, has an OLED touchscreen with higher resolution, and a longer battery life but comes with less storage and memory, and has integrated graphics, which restricts its capability for demanding tasks or games. The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is very good for gaming and AI, while the ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 excels in gaming and 3D applications due to its high-performance Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti graphics card and a high screen refresh rate of 300 Hz, which ensures smoother visual experiences during fast-paced action. On the other hand, the ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED, while offering fair gaming and 3D capabilities, is equipped with a less powerful Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics and a lower refresh rate of 120 Hz, making it less ideal for demanding gaming scenarios.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a better screen than the ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED for gaming and AI, and content creation, while the ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED has a better screen for general use, and engineering and design.
For general use, both ASUS laptops provide crisp visuals and vivid colors due to high resolution and brightness, making text and images clear and easy to view. The excellent screen quality for engineering and design on both laptops comes from wide color gamuts ensuring accurate color representation, crucial for those fields. However, their screen quality is considered poor for gaming and 3D because despite good resolution, lower refresh rates can lead to less fluid motion, which is key for fast-paced activities and rendering 3D graphics.

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"While one of the more budget-friendly configurations of the Asus Zenbook 14X OLED may make a compelling case as a top value pick, it’s difficult to be disappointed with the more expensive model we reviewed here. At its core, for all models, it’s a luxury-built laptop with extreme portability and a gorgeous OLED display. Our unit rocks with a snappy Core i9 processor for getting real work done, and the discrete GPU—even if it has a clear power ceiling—is a bonus for creative pros."
