Choosing between the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the ASUS Vivobook 16 depends on what's most important to you. If you prioritize high-end gaming or need a lot of power for tasks like 3D rendering or machine learning, the Strix Scar 15 is equipped with a more powerful processor and graphics card that cater to those needs. However, expect a heavier laptop with shorter battery life. On the other hand, the Vivobook 16 won't handle intensive tasks as well, but it's lighter, has a longer battery life, and is easier on the wallet, making it a better fit for general use and portability. Both laptops have a similar amount of storage and memory, so these factors are less likely to influence your decision. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is very good for gaming and AI, while the ASUS Vivobook 16 is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 stands out for gaming and 3D applications due to its powerful Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti graphics card and a high screen refresh rate of 300 times per second, which are both very important for responsive gameplay and smooth visuals. In contrast, the ASUS Vivobook 16 uses a less capable AMD Ryzen 7 7730U Vega 8 integrated graphics solution and has a lower screen refresh rate of 60 times per second, making it less suitable for demanding games and 3D tasks.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 offers a high-resolution display and vibrant colors, which are essential for clarity and detail in engineering and general use, but its lower refresh rate holds it back for fast-paced gaming and 3D applications where smooth motion is key. The ASUS Vivobook 16’s screen provides a balance suitable for everyday tasks and some engineering work due to acceptable resolution and color representation, but its performance in gaming and 3D is limited by both the refresh rate and less optimal color range. Neither laptop excels in gaming and 3D environments because the screen qualities vital for those areas, like ultra-high refresh rates, take a backseat to the features that prioritize general use and professional design work.

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the ASUS Vivobook 16 compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, Yannick Khong | May 2023
"The ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605 (2023) is a budget Windows laptop. It's available with various AMD Ryzen 5000 and 7000 U-series CPUs and integrated graphics. You can only get 8GB of RAM; however, there's an empty SO-DIMM slot if you want to upgrade it. It has an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 16:10 IPS display, a full-size keyboard with a Numpad, a 720p webcam, and Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity. Ports include three USB-As, one USB-C, an HDMI, and a headphone jack. The USB-C supports charging but no video output."
