The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is designed for gaming and high-performance tasks with advanced graphics capability, but its high cost, larger size, and reduced portability make it less ideal for carrying around. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook 15X is more affordable and portable, suitable for general use and moderate tasks, but it has less power, lower performance for intensive tasks, and reduced storage capacity compared to the ROG Strix Scar 15. Choose the ROG Strix Scar 15 if gaming and performance are priorities, or the Vivobook 15X if you prefer a balance between cost, performance, and portability for everyday use. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and ASUS Vivobook 15X are both good for general use, though the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is somewhat better.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is better suited for general use due to its more powerful Intel CPU, higher RAM capacity, and superior screen refresh rate, which lead to smoother performance and better multitasking capabilities, but it has less portability and shorter battery life compared to the ASUS Vivobook 15X. The Vivobook 15X, while more portable with longer battery life, offers fair performance for general use given its less powerful AMD Ryzen CPU and lower RAM capacity, along with a standard screen refresh rate which is adequate for daily tasks but not optimized for high-end gaming or intensive multitasking.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 15X for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 likely offers a high-resolution display with a panel type that provides accurate colors and brightness suitable for everyday tasks, as well as precision work in engineering and design due to its wide color gamut coverage. However, despite these attributes, it may have a lower refresh rate which is not ideal for gaming and 3D work, where fast screen updates are crucial. The ASUS Vivobook 15X, with fair screen quality across the board, likely has a decent resolution and panel that performs sufficiently for general and design tasks but does not excel in color accuracy or refresh rates for high-end gaming or 3D modeling.

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the ASUS Vivobook 15X compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"All in all, my day on the Vivobook had its ups and downs. It is a really pretty and well-built device, and it had all of the functionality I needed to get me through my browser-based workload. But the speakers weren’t my favorite, and the battery life was just too short."
