The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is priced higher and offers excellent general use, engineering, and 3D/machine learning performance with a high-refresh-rate display ideal for intensive gaming, albeit with less battery life and average portability. In contrast, the ASUS TUF Gaming A17, while cheaper, still delivers strong performance for gaming, engineering, and general use, has a larger screen, a good battery life, and decent portability; however, its display features aren't as advanced as the Scar 15, which means less smoothness in fast-motion games. If budget isn't a concern and you seek top-tier gaming performance with a high-refresh-rate display, go for the Strix Scar 15, but if you want to save money and get good performance with longer battery life and a big screen, choose the TUF Gaming A17. For general use, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15’s superior resolution and panel type offer crisp and vibrant visuals, while its higher brightness enhances the display's readability in various lighting conditions. How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the ASUS TUF Gaming A17 compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"There is one big question that needs an answer. Is the TUF Gaming A17 FA707 a better purchase than the ROG Strix G17 G713R (2022)? Well, it depends. Undoubtedly, the Strix is the more premium product. Arguably the biggest advantage it has over its TUF fellow is in regards to the display. ASUS TUF Gaming A17 A707’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a very good contrast ratio."
