If you're focused on gaming or intensive tasks such as 3D modeling or video editing, the ASUS ROG Strix typically offers superior performance which can justify its higher price, but it can be heavier and less portable than the HP Omen. The HP Omen, while generally more affordable and lighter, may compromise a bit on performance and cooling efficiency but is still capable for most tasks and easier to carry around. Consider how you prioritize gaming performance and portability in your daily use, and how much you're willing to adjust your budget to match those needs. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 has a better screen than the HP Omen 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
When considering a laptop for general use, the ASUS ROG Strix's high resolution and bright panel ensure a sharp and vivid display, while the HP Omen offers a balance between clarity and brightness. For engineering and design work, the ASUS ROG Strix excels with a wider color range, providing better accuracy and detail needed for professional-grade projects compared to the still respectable HP Omen. However, for gaming and 3D tasks that demand smoother motion, both the ASUS and HP fall short due to lower refresh rates, making fast-paced visuals less fluid and potentially more straining to the eyes.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2024) and the HP Omen 16 compare to other laptops
"With the mobile Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, the Asus ROG Stix G16 hits the sweet spot between performance and cooling. The G16 also does not have to shy away from direct comparison with its supposedly stronger family member, the ROG Strix Scar 18 with its RTX 4090, as most benchmarks of the two laptops are very close to each other. Moreover, the G16 should be significantly cheaper. Depending on the supplier, the price difference here could be almost US$ 2,000. In the 2023 model series, Asus has significantly leveled out the differences between the two high-end lines."
"The Omen 16 has proven to be a fairly good mid-range gaming laptop with all-around improvements compared to the Omen 15. The high overall performance level across all use cases, the long battery life, and the good FHD display constitute the main advantages of this HP laptop. The main drawbacks are the faulty touchpad (one-off?) and the high latencies that can be observed even after just opening the browser. Furthermore, the useless, preinstalled 30-day trial versions of various software also fall under the category "unnecessary"."
