When choosing between the ASUS ROG Strix G16 and the Gigabyte Aorus 17H, consider that although they may have similar prices, the ASUS is likely more focused on high-end gaming performance and may have more aggressive cooling, while the Gigabyte is geared towards a balance of gaming and productivity with a slightly larger screen, which may be beneficial for multitasking or creative work. However, the larger screen size can make the Gigabyte less portable. Both will handle intensive tasks well, but their size and weight will impact ease of transport. Battery life typically isn't the strong suit for gaming laptops, so expect to carry a charger for either model. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 has a better screen than the Gigabyte Aorus 17H for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix G16, with its high resolution and bright display, offers crisp and vivid images advantageous for daily tasks and professional design work, complemented by its wide color gamut that ensures accurate color reproduction essential for engineering and graphic design purposes. On the other hand, for gaming and 3D applications, its lower refresh rate may make fast-paced visuals less smooth compared to displays tailored for gaming. Conversely, the Gigabyte Aorus 17H, while also providing a sharp and bright display suitable for general use and having a decent color range for engineering tasks, falls short for gaming and 3D work due to the emphasis on visuals over refresh rate.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2024) and the Gigabyte Aorus 17H compare to other laptops
"With the mobile Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, the Asus ROG Stix G16 hits the sweet spot between performance and cooling. The G16 also does not have to shy away from direct comparison with its supposedly stronger family member, the ROG Strix Scar 18 with its RTX 4090, as most benchmarks of the two laptops are very close to each other. Moreover, the G16 should be significantly cheaper. Depending on the supplier, the price difference here could be almost US$ 2,000. In the 2023 model series, Asus has significantly leveled out the differences between the two high-end lines."
"Overall though, it’s *lots of swearing* fast, seriously. For work, rendering, gaming, it doesn’t matter, this is a true weapon of performance that’s going to run rings around most high-end desktop systems. If you absolutely have to game at ultra-high refresh rates on the go (but within thinking distance of a plug socket), this is the ticket. I can’t see such an extreme being that appealing to everyone, but if you take your gaming seriously, or even professionally, there’s nothing else out there that comes close that you can still fit in your backpack and travel with."
