The ASUS ROG Strix G16 tends to be less expensive than the MSI Stealth GS66, making it an attractive option if budget is a key factor. If you prioritize portability, the MSI Stealth GS66 is lighter and has a slightly better portability score, which could be significant if you travel often or have to carry your laptop around a lot. Despite the Stealth GS66's high refresh rate display, the ROG Strix G16 has a display with a taller aspect ratio, which might be preferable for productivity tasks. For gaming or performance-intensive tasks like 3D rendering or engineering software, the ROG Strix G16 has a newer GPU, potentially providing a better experience. Keep in mind the Strix G16 has a larger screen size and better battery life, which is beneficial for longer usage sessions away from a power source. The Stealth GS66, on the other hand, comes with Windows 11 Pro and a premium build quality, which might be more appealing if you're looking for a high-end feel and additional professional features. How the ASUS ROG Strix G16 and the MSI Stealth GS66 compare to other laptops
"With the mobile Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, the Asus ROG Stix G16 hits the sweet spot between performance and cooling. The G16 also does not have to shy away from direct comparison with its supposedly stronger family member, the ROG Strix Scar 18 with its RTX 4090, as most benchmarks of the two laptops are very close to each other. Moreover, the G16 should be significantly cheaper. Depending on the supplier, the price difference here could be almost US$ 2,000. In the 2023 model series, Asus has significantly leveled out the differences between the two high-end lines."
"The MSI Stealth GS66 is powerful enough for QHD. The Core i7-12700H and the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti found in the 12UGS model that we tested run all modern games smoothly in the native QHD resolution. The 15-inch display is very fast with its 240 Hz refresh rate, and it also offers a great color space (almost 100% DCI-P3) on top of that, which should please gamers as well as content creators, although we would have still wished for a higher brightness. Case, input devices, and connectivity (Thunderbolt 4) are at a good level. However, among other things, the GS66 loses points due to the high temperature development in 3D mode and its poor webcam."
