The ASUS ROG Strix G16 is a robust choice for those prioritizing performance in gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning tasks, thanks to its powerful Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU and Intel i7-13650HX processor, complemented by ample RAM and storage. Its high refresh rate and decent color coverage make it suitable for fast-paced gaming, though it's less portable due to its size and weight. The Strix G16 also offers a good range of ports, including Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C, and has a backlit keyboard with a number pad, which is great for gaming and productivity. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED is ideal for general use and multimedia consumption with its vibrant OLED display that boasts excellent color reproduction and contrast. It's more portable with a smaller form factor and lighter weight, making it a better choice for on-the-go use. The laptop's Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and Intel Arc GPU are sufficient for everyday tasks, light gaming, and some creative work, but it may not handle intensive engineering tasks as well as the Strix G16. The Vivobook S 14 OLED also has a good selection of ports and a comfortable backlit keyboard. In summary, if you need a high-performance machine for demanding tasks and gaming, and portability isn't a top concern, the Strix G16 is the way to go. However, if you value a stunning display, portability, and a laptop suited for general use with some light gaming or creative work, the Vivobook S 14 OLED is the better option. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Marc Herter | March 2023
"With the mobile Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, the Asus ROG Stix G16 hits the sweet spot between performance and cooling. The G16 also does not have to shy away from direct comparison with its supposedly stronger family member, the ROG Strix Scar 18 with its RTX 4090, as most benchmarks of the two laptops are very close to each other. Moreover, the G16 should be significantly cheaper. Depending on the supplier, the price difference here could be almost US$ 2,000. In the 2023 model series, Asus has significantly leveled out the differences between the two high-end lines."
