The Apple MacBook Pro 16 (2023) is priced at a premium and offers an Apple M2 Pro processor with integrated graphics, a very long battery life, and MacOS, which is ideal for professionals using multimedia or developing for the Apple ecosystem. It's heavier and slightly less portable, with a distinctive Mini LED display that doesn't support touch. In contrast, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 is a bit less expensive, runs Windows 11 Home, and packs a powerful Intel i7 processor with an Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, suitable for demanding tasks like 3D rendering or gaming; it features a touchscreen with a more conventional IPS panel and is lighter, making it more portable. However, its battery life is significantly shorter, so frequent travelers or those away from power sources may find it less convenient. Choose the MacBook Pro if you prioritize battery life and work within the Apple ecosystem, or opt for the Surface Laptop Studio 2 for better gaming performance and a touchscreen at the cost of battery longevity. How the Apple MacBook Pro 16 (2023) and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Pro 16 2023: M2 Max challenges GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. The new MacBook Pro 16 2023 with the M2 Max SoC is the most powerful laptop Apple has on sale right now. While we do not get the expected performance and efficiency improvements from completely new 3 nm chips, which we expected ahead of the launch, the 2023 model is still a solid update. The CPU of the M2 Max can be up to 20 % faster than the old model and we also see an advantage of 25-30 % for the GPU with 38 cores. However, both components also consume more power, so the efficiency did not change that much under maximum load."
"The new Surface Laptop Studio with its foldable display is supposed to replace the old Surface Book and the overall impression is good after our review. The build quality and the materials are top-notch, the performance utilization of the two components is solid and the device does not show any major flaws in terms of display or speakers, either. The folding mechanism leaves a sold impression as well, but it remains to be seen how it will hold up over the years. The so-called presentation mode is also not ideal since it covers the whole keyboard."
