The Apple MacBook Pro 16’s higher price brings you superior screen quality, longer battery life, and a lighter, more portable design, which makes it great for general use and professional tasks like video editing or music production. It also has a higher build quality and better speakers. On the other hand, the ASUS ROG Strix G17 comes at a mid-range price with excellent performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and gaming, thanks to its powerful AMD CPU and Nvidia GPU. It's less portable and has a shorter battery life but is better suited for demanding gaming or engineering workloads. Give Feedback

The Apple MacBook Pro 16 has a better screen than the ASUS ROG Strix G17 for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
When considering the Apple MacBook Pro 16, its screen excels in color accuracy and wide color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, which are essential for engineering and design tasks, while also providing high resolution and brightness for general use, but it may not have the high refresh rate preferred for 3D applications. The ASUS ROG Strix G17 offers a vibrant display suitable for general use and decent color coverage useful for engineering and design, but its screen may lack the ultra-high refresh rates sought by gamers and professionals working with fast-paced 3D visuals. Choosing between these laptops depends on whether one prioritizes color precision and resolution for productivity or the smoothness of motion for gaming and dynamic 3D work.

How the Apple MacBook Pro 16 (2023) and the ASUS ROG Strix G17 compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Pro 16 2023: M2 Max challenges GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. The new MacBook Pro 16 2023 with the M2 Max SoC is the most powerful laptop Apple has on sale right now. While we do not get the expected performance and efficiency improvements from completely new 3 nm chips, which we expected ahead of the launch, the 2023 model is still a solid update. The CPU of the M2 Max can be up to 20 % faster than the old model and we also see an advantage of 25-30 % for the GPU with 38 cores. However, both components also consume more power, so the efficiency did not change that much under maximum load."
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
