For better performance in 3D rendering, machine learning, and other engineering tasks, the Gigabyte Aorus 17H with its powerful Intel processor and Nvidia RTX 4080 GPU stands out, but it's heavier and less portable than the MacBook Pro. In contrast, the Apple MacBook Pro 14 offers a balance of performance with its M3 processor, better battery life, and a higher-resolution Mini LED display which is more portable due to its lighter weight. It is also less expensive. If you value portability, battery life, and a high-quality display for general use, go for the MacBook Pro. If your priority is gaming or intensive tasks and you don't mind the extra weight and shorter battery life, the Aorus 17H is more suitable. Give Feedback

The Apple MacBook Pro 14 has a better screen than the Gigabyte Aorus 17H for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation, while the Gigabyte Aorus 17H has a better screen for gaming and AI.
The Apple MacBook Pro 14 boasts a high-resolution display with exceptional brightness and a panel type that presents sharp images and vibrant colors, perfect for general use and design tasks that require accuracy in color representation, such as using Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. However, its refresh rate is not geared towards 3D applications, which means it's less suitable for tasks that require smooth motion, such as 3D modeling or gaming. The Gigabyte Aorus 17H, while offering a good balance of resolution and brightness for daily tasks and a decent representation of colors for engineering and design work, lacks the high refresh rate desired by gamers and professionals in 3D graphics who need fluid visual performance.

How the Apple MacBook Pro 14 (Late 2023) and the Gigabyte Aorus 17H compare to other laptops
"In the Apple MacBook Pro 14 2023, the M2 Pro is slowed down. From the improved 5nm process, the new M2 Pro is a very solid upgrade. Graphics performance has increased by about 25% in tandem with a clear improvement in efficiency. The processor has also seen a performance leap of up to 20%, but this is accompanied by an increase in consumption of up to 25%. Fundamentally, Apple its maintaining its advantage over AMD and Intel, particularly in optimized applications where the results are very good in view of the comparatively low power consumption."
"Overall though, it’s *lots of swearing* fast, seriously. For work, rendering, gaming, it doesn’t matter, this is a true weapon of performance that’s going to run rings around most high-end desktop systems. If you absolutely have to game at ultra-high refresh rates on the go (but within thinking distance of a plug socket), this is the ticket. I can’t see such an extreme being that appealing to everyone, but if you take your gaming seriously, or even professionally, there’s nothing else out there that comes close that you can still fit in your backpack and travel with."
