Choosing between the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) and the MSI Raider GE78 hinges on your needs. If portability and longer battery life are crucial, the MacBook Pro is lighter with significantly longer battery life, perfect for general use like web browsing and office work. However, if you require top-tier performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, or gaming, the heavier MSI Raider, with its more powerful processor and graphics card, excels despite its shorter battery life and less portability. Regardless, both have excellent build quality and keyboards, with the MSI providing more storage and memory, which can be beneficial for demanding engineering tasks or extensive multitasking. The MSI Raider GE78 has a better screen than the Apple MacBook Pro 13 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The MacBook Pro 13's screen provides crisp images and vivid colors due to its high resolution and bright display, making it ideal for general use and detailed work in engineering and design that require accurate color representation. However, its refresh rate is lower, which detracts from the smoothness necessary for 3D applications. The MSI Raider GE78, while sharing similar attributes suitable for general tasks and color-sensitive work, fails to deliver the high refresh rate sought by gaming and 3D professionals, affecting the fluidity and responsiveness in those environments.

"The MacBook Pro 13 is still a very good subnotebook. The 2022 MacBook Pro 13 might look like recycling at first, because the device is completely identical to the old model expect for the new M2 SoC. We have to admit that we were surprised to see another iteration of the MBP 13 as well. The laptop is obviously familiar, but this does not change the fact that it is still a very good subnotebook. You get an excellent chassis with good stability, a very good display, good input devices and the new M2 chip is very powerful and efficient."
"Performance-wise, the GE78 offers a significant boost over the GE77 for just slightly higher power consumption. You'll have to get the RTX 4080 or 4090 configurations to see the performance advantages, however, as the RTX 4070 is closer in performance to the older RTX 3080 Ti. In terms of design, some users might prefer the 16:9 minimalistic look of the older GE77 over the 16:10 retro-inspired GE78 and vice versa. We wouldn't call one better than the other in terms of aesthetics, but we'll give the edge to the GE78 for its stronger hinges and larger keys and clickpad."
